Metacritic uses a weighted average, so it is hard to tell, but I think the chances of this being true lessens a bit considering that I would estimate it would have to be weighted 2 to 3 times greater then the other reviews on average for it to have that effect.
Source: Assuming that the other are not weighted, 88 avergage * 70 critics (68 crictics with 2 extra 50% review) = 6160
6160 - 150 (eliminating 3 50% reviews) = 6010
new average = 6010 / 67 = 89.7
