A lot of OOT's praise is that it had the luxury of being the first 3D Zelda, any 3D Zelda could have been released back then and the same result would have occurred due to how the industry was at the time, it was the technical aspests that elevated OOT's legacy rather than anything done specific to the series approach. In a straight up comparison some of the following games are overall better.
BOTW will likely be a much better game than OOT but it won't match the near perfect review scores for various reasons although it could be close to them, the next major Zelda title with the features of the Switch has a good chance at matching the score building on BOTW.
