Reconfirmed: eShop purchases on Switch are tied to Nintendo Accounts

However, he is worried about his system crapping out on him.  If that happens then he would have to contact Nintendo Customer Service to try and get his games onto a new system.  Have to jump through a few hoops but I believe the Customer Service Reps can fix the issue of getting previous purchased games onto a new system if the previous system was lost or damaged.

I see...I assumed it was as simple as just registering your NNID to your new system, and then having access to the games on the eShop. Is there a one-system limit or something?

That really stings losing your data though...crap. I was a lot luckier I guess.
