- Cross-buy games you had on PS3/Vita are playable on PS4.
- You console can break. Then you would have to buy a new one. As it is tied to your account, you can just login and re-download stuff. On Wii U you had to call Nintendo and send the console to them so they can transfer your purchases.
I think the benefits are pretty clear.
