Always a mad crazy when someone gets a coveted item early, even if it's useless in the received state.

I remember people buying PS4 games and accessories before the console was even out and going crazy over it, people getting phones early, consoles early, handhelds early, games early, the internet goes nots for it no matter what.

Take the ps4 slim, some people went crazy trying to buy one off the guy that had them, JUST so they could show it off early even though it's in no way different from a standard console in any worthwhile way.

As it stands, if the dude takes it online, he can pretty much say goodbye to his consoles online capability, if he doesn't he can't buy anything to run on it or play online, or update anything, so all he really has is the ability to show off the unboxing and UI, he COULD have made a nice tidy sum of cash by posting that himself and monetizing it, but instead some random site i have never even heard of until today swoops in, gets the "exclusive" and will no doubt make quite a tidy sum off of the back of someone else receiving the console early.

Sometimes I think the games industry and the media that covers it has lost it's collective mind.

How so, if you don't mind me asking?

People who played Pokemon early on 3DS got banned, under the gaize of "banning pirates playing it early" the thing is, a bunch of people (including the ones who eventually dumped the cart and put it online) had got it early either because of retailer mistakes or just blind luck of walking into a store and an employee not being on the ball.

If they'll ban people for playing a game early, chances are it isn't a far stretch to imagine them banning a person playing their newest console 2 weeks early either.
