I agree that The Godfather and Scarface offer essentially the same gameplay as GTA; however, they are different from Driver in being licensed games. Those who are fans will pick it up, but others may be more hesitant because of this (despite the good reviews). No More Heroes could also be a contender for the graphic style may turn some away. Also, I don't think it has been entirely revealed how exactly the game will play. The fact that the Driver has been released for the Wii and no reviews have surfaced yet is a little concerning and I'd still wait and see what people have to say before going out and getting it, but being a non-licensed title with a similar visual style (and in the realm of a similar storyline) Driver could see more popularity than expected.
The Xbox & PS2 versions scored 68.6 and 70.1, respectively according to GameRankings.com. Not stellar reviews, but not awful either. It will be interesting to see how the Wii version does and how well it sells.
