Germany wasn't an economic powerhouse in the late fourties... And East-Germany is still economicallly underdeveloped compared to West-Germany. Many German treasures have been stolen by the Russians as well. 

West-Germany became an economic powerhouse because of foreign investment, not because of what happened during WW II.

Not quite. Name a German industry giant that did not support Hitler. Hitler's imperialistic policies were supported by industry and trade, because it would mean they could expand to new markets. Despite Germany losing the war, the German industries won a lot. There's a reason why German youth was "flink wie windhunde, zäh wie leder und hart wie Kruppstahl".
