Yes, I'm saying that democracy doesn't happen. A few hundred people decide the laws. Direct democracy is the only true democracy.

If people prefer representative democracy over direct democracy, isn't democracy happening in that case? But people vote for the lawmakers based on their own preference on different matters, isn't this democracy?

You could say direct democracy being the true form of democracy, but in that case, we'd need considerably smaller autonomic units that we have today. Otherwise bureucracy would kill the decision making.
