If he is a Naruto fan, he'll want 1, 2 and 3, as they are sequels that follow, even if loosely at some times, the Naruto story.

Me and Naruto are like an old couple in a bad relationship: we've been together for so long that we either have no idea how to leave each other or we're just plain too lazy, so we express our love through abuse. The only way I'd touch a Naruto game is if it would be a magnificent game regardless, and it just happens to have the Naruto IP thrown on top of it. I love the Arkham games. Not just for Batman, but because they'd be damn good games regardless of the caped crusader or not.
