and with that range of money.....
get a honda or a toyota....
repairs are reflectively cheaper than bmw....
get car fax and check out craigs list for cars.... you can see history of cars there and the cars there are relatively cheaper.... also people who sell their car doesn't know how to play the "sales game" and would be easier for you to smell the bull shit than people who actually work for that in a daily basis.... if you can pay cash it can go much cheaper and could adjust the the sales price for tax purposes.... if you are using the car until it's lasting breath... but yeah go for a civic or accord or a corolla or camry... they would last you good and gives you more bang on your buck
