After dropping about $100+ on balloons and flowers, Valentine's Day isn't great for guys. Sure the ladies love it, to be honest I'd rather be single on Valentine's Day, I'm booked for dinner plus 50 Shades Darker afterwards which I'm not too thrilled about. All these holidays really are just money-sucks for guys.
Actually I would say being single on New Years sucks harder because you have no one to make out with at midnight which is awkward if you're with a group, I felt bad for my buddy on New Years for that.
It's overrated for guys. The only holidays that are really great for guys are maybe New Years, Halloween, and St. Patrick's Day.
