MS want that community using their products and services and MS can still deliver those products and services no matter what machine people play Minecraft on.

The ability to take the same world you created within one environment and play it on multiple different hardware like your Phone and your PC/XB. Its in MS best interest to keep the MC community growing and strong to keep the money flowing and instead try to woe the community on the XB platform with special incentives.
