I mean the Vita uses a propriatery card right? So can you hook that up to the pc to transfer? Can you hook up Vita directly to the pc to transfer? I mean with a 3DS, it's just a micro sd, so any old adaptor can get you to transfer stuff to teh pc easy.  Is there an adapter for the Vita cards?

I don't have a Vita, I'm just curious.

Yes. You can do full memory card backups to your PC. You can store all games, saves, pictures, music, and video on your PC. It takes a bit to transfer, but it all works. It connects to your PC using the charger (which has a USB port).
