Regardless, an app of this nature will almost certainly not be included, anyone requiring to login via a webportal to access the internet will have to wait until a browser is added.

This does suck for those who need a web browser. But I suppose you could use bluetooth tethering and enter the internet via smartphone. I havn't tried that out, but theoritically it should work.
