Kratos doesn't kill people for the sake of it when they are close to him. The entire story of God of War revolves around how he regrets killing his wife and daughter and in Chains of Olympus he has emotional moments with his daughter. He also saves the life of his brother once in Ghost of Sparta. ANd in Ascension he doesn't want to kill Orkos but Orkos asks him to kill him.

Yes I can agree with this.

Jesus. There are three games I haven't played, I was mistaken thinking I started Chains, it was actually Assension and I didn't know the other two existed consciously. I guess there is no point knowing now as I sold my vita and broke my PS3.

These are the three games where the developers show the emotional side of Kratos. Now I know why you see him as a maniac which is what he behaves like in the main trilogy, while the side games are all about devloping his character with story arcs relating to his family and those that worked with him to break his oath with Ares.

If you have a PS Portable you can still play Chains and Ghost.
