Probably. The line between success and failure is going to be kind of hard to figure for the Switch, though. Assuming no 3DS successor, it will have to cover sales for both handhelds and home consoles. Even then, the baseline for the Switch is not simply Wii U + 3DS, as most people who owned both of those systems are unlikely to buy two Switch consoles. That's why Nintendo is trying to hard to attract new consumers.
I think Nintendo is looking to generate more revenue from accessories, too. I anticipate a horde of themed Joy Cons and holders.
Ultimately, they'll need to find a way to sell a LOT of software to Switch owners. The attach rate is going to need to be really high to equal handheld + home console software numbers.
