So how does that matter then if you're not reliant on Nintendo as your only gaming platform?

Let me remind you of my comment:

"So how much the Switch sells will be an indicator as to the direction Nintendo moves in the next few years. If you love Nintendo as they are today and the Switch has poor sales, that Nintendo will cease to exist in the near future. "

If you like Nintendo now, then if they keep making bad decisions, they will cease to exist in the future. Whether you like Nintendo or not is unrelated to being reliant on them as your only gaming platform (wtf?).

For some people it is that way. I really like Nintendo games, I own most of their consoles. If some day they are run into the ground by execs who don't know what they're doing it won't matter to me. The output of Nintendo first party games is already painstakingly slow, I wouldn't mind if they cease to exist. There will always be great games, I don't rely on Nintendo for them.

If anything I'd be happy to have to buy one useless piece of plastic less every cycle.
