Makes sense, PS4 pro is PS4.5(fw4.50)

As a huge fan of the Pro and the idea of scalable consoles, I would not say Pro is PS4.5. Honestly PS4 Pro is not even PS4.25, because even though it has 2.5x the APU of the PS4, it only has 1.125x the RAM. A PS4.5 would be more like ~10TFLOPS with 64GB of RAM, if we continued the ~10x CPU/GPU performance and 16x increase in RAM that we have seen on every PS generation to date.

I have been thinking about all of the possabilities that this update offers today, and it is potentially huge. Here are a few;

1. If the external storage allows us to use games across multiple PS4s, then this greatly improves the ability to take PSVR to a friends house and show off your games and VR.

2. On that same note, having the ability to take games from console to console allows Sony to iterate quicker on PS hardware and make the transisition between devices easier.

3. The External drive support could be opening the door for PlayStation Videos 4K HDR Movie Dowload service to come to PS4 Pro.

May not be the most exciting to everyone, but I think all 3 are awesome, and add major value to the OS and the Platform.
