Metroid Prime 2: Echoes has a Teen rating, but I would consider it a much darker and deeper experience than any GTA game I've played. And certainly a lot more mature.
Fairy tales are infamous for their dark and twisted stories by the way... Just saying.

There are different types of fairy tales. The brothers Grimm tales are dark and very adult. The Arabian nights and almost every fairy tale in it talks of murder, rape, slavery etc. The whole story behind the two Kings that begins the Arabian nights has a very mature adult theme and goes into martial affairs, slavery etc.
Disney has turned fairy tales into child friendly stories, but the source material is anything but child friendly most of the times.
