I think ports is a good way to fill the gaps of releases (since we won't see many third party games). I would bet that we'll see (in some point) ports of Mario Maker, Pokken Tournament, Yoshi's Woolly World, Bayonetta (1&2) and Donkey Kong Country (maybe just Tropical Freeze, maybe Returns in HD could come along and that would be awesome). The cost of producing HD games was one of the problems Nintendo had to deal when they launch the Wii U, so I guess they will try to gain a little more from the games they already made, before spending money in a new Bayonetta or Donkey Kong. Even if this games don't sell that well in the Switch, a port is way more cheap so it's a good option for test some franchises with a larger install base that we expect Switch to have. Also, I don't expect ports of games that already have sequences being developed like Splatoon and Xenoblade and I don't think a port of Smash 4 would be a good idea, since it already sold very well in Wii U and 3DS. They should focus on a Smash 5.
