I got no beef with the joycons - not while using them together with the grip (the "dog controller") at least.. But the pro controller to me just looks like it'd be more comfortable for me to use, particularly for the bigger, more complex games like Zelda.
I do feel using the separate joycons, especially without the extender, would feel somewhat awkward with my biggish hands, and also the joystick appears a bit too close to the face buttons when playing them on their side, but then, there have been reports of people saying it feels better than it appears, so who knows. To me it just makes more sense to buy the pro controller for 70 bucks, as opposed to an additional set of joycons when I already get one included, plus the charging grip for another 30 or whatever it is.
