It just slowly kept getting better and better. A lot of people thought the PSP was going to win for some reason because it beat the DS in every system spec other than lacking a touch screen. They also thought the PlayStation name would carry it through. System Specs have never been a deciding factor though, in fact the weakest system of this generation and the last were the weakest systems in the group.
