Depends on how they approach online. Considering Splatoon 2 comes out before the implementation of online subscription fees, I think some modes will be introduced that require a subscription and there will be prior modes that don't.
Argh! I'd be lying if I said I never paid for online but I don't want to anymore...
But if Nintendo introduces Octolings, they might force my hand.
