I think it's been confirmed there is no extra CPU in the dock. HDMI-out wouldn't need additional CPU. I doubt those corded adapters will work with Switch. I had the one with red wires and couldn't get it to do HDMI and USBpower with phone. They're mhl so I don't think they're supported by Switch anyway.

Hoping something more portable than the dock will pop up before launch. I don't want to accidentally blow my Switch up with the wrong hub.
