China's professional manufacturing industry makes just as high quality products as manufacturing industry elsewhere. But sure, impose tariffs, it'll only be robots assembling them if they move it to the US. Heck, that'll be the case regardless of where it is in a few years, but if firms are forced to build new manufacturing plants anywhere, you can bet your ass they'll be automated to all hell, so you will just gain a handful of jobs anyway.
