As smartphone chips get more and more powerful I think a some point they're going to reach a point of graphical fidelity which is "good enough" for most people (probably right around PS4 levels of visuals). Once that happens a hardware manufacturer will have a light bulb go off in their head, and basically you won't really need a home console anymore. Just sync your phone to your smart TV, have a Bluetooth gamepad handy, and voila ... you'll be able to play fairly high end games. |
Dedicated PC HW will remain more powerful than mobile HW for the foreseeable future. When a phone can run AAA games like consoles, than we can start talking.
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
