Whether you like it or not, this is being marketed as a home console experience you can take on the go, just because you can *gasp* take it on the go, doesn't mean it's not a home console anymore, a home console doesn't strictly have to be a powerful box that connects to your TV. 3rd parties in-general also aren't strictly the big AAA power-hungry western studios, the Japanese 3rd parties, who don't typically put graphics first, will likely flock to the Switch, much like the 3DS and the Vita, the latter getting a lot of the same games as the PS4 did. I doubt you will see many AAA western games unless the Switch becomes so sucessful they're willing to drop a load of money to port it, but you'll see a boatload of Japanese support.

As for your latter arguments, yes, mobile HW has naturally evolved since then, but do you really think ANY company can put out a portable PS4 that is affordable, doesn't generate a lot of heat to melt it and can sustain a bearable battery life? It's simply impossible for any company to do that, especially back when the Switch started development a few years back. Further more, it's certainly more powerful than the Wii U, gigaflops aren't the end all-be all numbers that determine what it can't and cannot do. Heck, power doesn't even determine the sucess of a console anyways, just like it doesn't determine if it's a home console or not. If you want a beefcake of a console, just go buy a PS4/X1, you already have 2 options to choose from if you're looking only for that.

So what you're saying to defend your mobile HW aspect is that it can't handle PS4 like HW because of problems that're related to handheld consoles. Hmm...
