I sincerely think next-gen hardware makers shouldn`t aim for low pricing

The market is definitely changing. It will be very interesting to see what kind of hardware offerings come in the future. One thing I think is for sure though. You can not compete i todays market with a static piece of hardware, or an OS/Chipset that is limited to one form factor. How Sonyand Nintendo address that to remain competitive is yet to be seen. Microsoft will compete via Surface Phone, Surface Pro, Surface Book, Surface Home (Scorpio), and Surface Studio. I think the other two will have to follow a very similar formula.

The market is not changing as evidenced by the fact that very few people (in the grand scheme of things) care about th PS4Pro. My guess is that Sony will never do a mid-gen refresh again.

Really, because PS4 Pro being sold out everywhere shows little interest? Or was it when it came back in stock on Amazon and is now sitting right behind the top selling XBO sku?

PS4 Pro is selling better than Sony expected so far. It will take a good year before we get a full picture of how this plays out, but with the limited data we have so far, it is doing better than expected. 

Come back next year at this time and we will see how $299.99 PS4 Pro and a $399.99 Scorpio areperforming in the market. My bet is they are going to surprise many people. E3 is going to sell the crap out of Pro, Scorpio, and VR. Mark my words.
