Tekken 7 releases June 2nd

If Eliza is the only character they lock behind a paywall, I'd take that as relatively tame in the industry today, and I'd be happy that the possibility of updates is a thing for Tekken 7. I don't think we need another Tekken for this generation, so might as well continue to build on this one.

Some good point well made, my worry is however is that new characters are not 'new', they are just new to this game so the season pass might include all stuff fine but when you have played Lei Wulong since Tekken 2 and he gets released as paid for DLC, that'll piss you off, not the case for me, I'm a Lee player.

You are right however, we won't get another one this gen. It's taken 3 years already and Tekken 7 was playable at Evo in 2015.

I also have my suspicion that this is the last 'Tekken'. The gameplay will continue but a new series may come from it, fans will move to that.

I am thinking it has taken so long because when I looked Tekken X Stree Fighter was still slated for this year as well. And they are seeing how well Akuma would be implemented before moving forward with that game. It is odd though just now getting a Tekken game when on PS3/360 we had Tekken 5: DR, Tekken 6: BR, TTT2 AND Tekken Revolution.
