Why does Microsoft xbox scorpio need exclusives when the top best selling games are multiplatform?

I see it like Freeview, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.

Freeview offers the most channels and content and some of it can be big blockbuster shows and movies, but a lot of people want those extra options to watch.

That extra could be anime, comedy, blockbusters, bmovies, cartoons etc. Some of it might even be shit like Miranda, cheap ass Adam Sandler movies, but these people exist and have their needs. You could argue to just stick with Freeview and be done with it, but when people who have the option to have more find the option, they will Switch.

Like Snoopy says, not everyone buys exclusives as much as some big 3Rd party games, but the exclusives justify the purchase when in drought season and you haven't got much to play. They justify the purchase when they are big hitters like Halo or Uncharted.

I usually play around 25-30 games a year ranging from indie to AAA. 3Rd party won't be enough to satisfy my needs.

Essentially, exclusives help justify the purchase of a console by enticing gamers with their library. Bosman I think makes the point much better.
