I haven't even used the pro controller yet but I'm guessing it has a significant advantage in battery life over the PS4 pad.

Yes, most likely. It still doesn't justify the price tag.

I didn't even know the pro controller had digital triggers are you sure? Seems another massive fail on Nintendo's part. Hated the lack of analogue triggers on the gamepad made racing games feel wrong as well as other genres of games. One of the great benefits of analogue triggers is to combine it with vibration feedback so you get recoil when you fire a gun or even clutch bite when you are changing gears in a car. So really the hd feedback of the Switch is actually quite basic if its only linked to digital buttons. So for all the talk of improved feedback its actually in real terms not that good.

Another thing to strike off the list of what's good about the Switch. It goes from bad to worse.

Also pro controller is £65 in the UK, dualshock 4 is about £40 with some discounted to as low as £30 so certainly not price competitive in the UK.

It's not 100% confirmed but several different sources. This is one: http://powerupgaming.co.uk/2017/01/14/nintendo-switch-joy-cons-and-pro-controller-use-digital-triggers-puts-gamecube-vc-titles-in-doubt/

I still don't understand why Nintendo is making life difficult. You want 3rd party, but don't care for racing games?
