Yeah, I don't think that was the main problem with SS...actually I had no problem with them, other then it got tiring due to my gaming habits and extremely long sessions, so I played somewhere around first half of the game on Dolphin with Xbox controller...then my kids made me play their game on Wii (they got stuck too often), so I finished it there with them, going through around third of the game I've already played on Dolphin again with Wiimote on Wii.
My conclusion (as far as controllers go): some things are easier on classic gamepad, some on Wiimote. In my opinion, in theory Nintendo could make SS completely motion controls free, but given that Switch has them, I really doubt it.
