It just sounds so incredibly strange to me for the cartridge to have Japanese voices in it but not the option to enable them. It's very hard for me to believe even though he's outright stating it, still a bit skeptical about buying the EU version...

3DS and WII U do the same thing. I did this for Yokai Watch, changed the OS from german to english and all the voice acting in the game was in english. It really sucks that you have to go this way, because developers are too lazy to implement such an easy option.
