That's why Metroid was such an important series, it spiced up an otherwise homogenous first party lineup. Sadly, if they made a Metroid for Switch, I'm willing to bet they'd make it some cartoony BS. |
Yeah E-rated games are some of the very best. But there needs balance. I definitely would not have bought Wii U at launch if not for ZombiU. People hated on that game but it was the closest thing to a proper metroid that I could ever realistically hope for. You gained powers, retraversed, was lonely, paid severe penalty for dying, scanned for items, accessed previously locked areas, there's even a scant amount of, well placed, platforming. Items/abilities varied but the concept shared striking similarities. I'm not going to pretend to be hopeful this on switch. But I'll remain discontent until there is.
