Except that Breath of the Wild on the Switch is superior to the Wii U version and has added portability. The 3DS and Wii U launch were worse. Even the DS launch was bad.   *those are handhelds.

And you don't have to wait long for more games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in April, Arms in Spring and Splatoon 2 in the Summer.

Wii U launch lineup:

U.S. launch: November 18, 2012

The Switch launches with 1 big game.... BoTW, thats also a cross gen title.

Wii U launched with multiple big games.

Imo Wii U launch line up was/is stronger than the Switch's.

Yeah, it launched with a lot of games, but almost none of them sold well besides NSMBU (Nintendoland was bundled). Nintendo hardcore fans (the early adopters) simply aren't interested in late third-party games (which is what most of the games on that list are). And NSMBU looks just like the Wii game, but in HD, a very unimpressive launch game if you ask me. Anyway, you said there was zero incentive, which is not true. A superior Zelda game is an incentive (to me).
