There's plenty of Nintendo games that drop in price. Some, rather quickly.

The big games (the Marios, Zeldas, Pokemon, etc) sell forever. They're always in demand. Why lower the price? If you're a retailer or a corporation, your trying to make money. These aren't "front loaded" games. They're more timeless.

Meanwhile RE7 and other games are multiplat. You can watch their stories online if you're so inclined. Stores are going to be saturated with multiple versions on multiple consoles. In three months, some big franchises drop in price $20-$30. They're readily available for purchase in the second hand market because people play them, beat them, and trade them in. People tend to keep Nintendo games.
