No, this is only good news. The rewritable portion of a game card is more expensive. This means the Switch cartridges will be cheaper without the rewritable part and we will see larger capacity game cards sooner.

I don't care if the cartridges are cheaper, it's not like they're lowering the price of games because of it. I prefer being able to save on the card itself.

 

But even on the 3DS games like Tomodachi Life only saved some of the data on the game cartridge. The rest of the save data went to internal storage. I know this from experience, owning both a 3DS and 2DS and using the same cartridge on both systems.
