No, not really.
Sony makes (usually) good well made products. But, there's nothing about their hardware that has been especially innovative. Maybe the cell processor.
In terms of software they're about average in terms of innovation. Most of their games fall within established genres without changing all that much about them. Some of their products are downright derivative. And every so often they'll have quirky side projects. So, pretty much average.
Feel free to prove me wrong with examples.
