Eurogamer: Did Nintendo download a Mario ROM and sell it back to us?

Well it may be their IP, so yeah, they can do whatever with it, but to download an illegal rom and just put it for sale its kind of a weird way to handle things, specially since they are very rigid with roms and anti-piracy measures.
