If you want the best of the best, PC is still the only option. Consoles are not an alternative for high end graphics. They never were.

But they dont try too, you pay £250 for a Xbox one or PS4. What do ypu pay for a high end PC? double or triple that.

If graphics are really important, price should not be an issue. If a high end graphics card is too expensive for someone, the person wasn't interested in high-end graphics anyway.

If I want a sports car, I go and buy a sports car. I don't get a used Smart and pretend it's almost as good as a Porsche, do I? I also don't make silly comparisons to some other cheap cars that may be even more underpowered. The point is, all consoles are underpowered, even Scorpio and Pro. Graphics are just not an argument to buy such a device. The differences between those so-called "super-charged" consoles and standard devices is abysmal. No 4K, no 144 fps and not even an option to prefer fps over resolution. A highend PC draws graphics console gamers have never seen before. Scorpio and Pro are just a little sharper around the edges. While that might matter to some souls on this planet, I highly doubt the mass market will ever give two shits about it.

Which brings me back to my initial assumption: Graphics in a gaming console simply don't matter. At all. As proven by the crazy fast original Xbox, the powerhouse PSP, the 64-Bit Jaguar, the heavily superior N64 and every mobile console that ever released alongside the Game Boy. Even when your specs are far behind the competition, you can still be more successful.

It's all about the software. That is true for the sales of a platform as well as its longevity.
