If you wait for games that will give you the same kind of feeling you got when playing those games, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
When you were younger, you were more impressionable. That's simply the nature of being a kid or teenager. And of course, it also comes with the fact that the industry and game styles were still in their infancy, when barely anything had been done before.
