I would like to know too. I bought a vita for the same price and everyone was hyped because "omg the games look awesome for a portable" I was happy with my ninja gaiden machine.

Idk but I think that Vita's failure should be a clear indicator that MOST people were not actually okay with the price (a.k.a. most people didnt see value in it).  And sure, Vita's price was not the only reason why it failed, but that was where it all started.
