When I first got my 42" tv I purchased some component cables and switched the wii to widescreen 480p but pretty quickly switched back to widescreen 576i because of the jaggies. I got sick of Galaxy at 480p real quick. At 576i the picture is rock solid - can't tell its interlaced as there's absolutely no flicker problems and all edges are clearly defined with no smudges. My Wii is PAL so maybe 576i isn't available for everyone but if you have the option try it and you may be pleasantly surprised. Of course it could be the tv doing some magic with the signal reducing any apparent visual problems 576i may otherwise introduce.
