Have you tried Mario Sports Mix - that one with Namco characters? It has four games: hockey, volleyball, basketball, dodgeball

I personally loved that game, it has decent content and is a lot of fun on multiplayer . If I´m not mistaken, it´s on the WiiU VC too.

I'm pretty sure that was actually made by Square Enix.  It had Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters if I recall correctly.
