With the whole "rent an NES ROM for a month" and "download a smartphone app to use chat" debacle, they're not off to a great start. I just don't understand why it's apparently so hard for Nintendo to do the things Sony and Microsoft do with ease, like making a competitive online service.

I can't deny it doesn't so good. But the smartphone app to use voice chat sounds so ridiculuos that I'll only believe it when more details are coming. Because it doesn't make sense to play with the Switch and using the app at the same time. Poor wording maybe? I hope so. Same applies to the renting. They could easily offer the same online service, with the same price as the competition and they could have got away with it, even if paid online sucks anyway. That's why I think something's off and I prefer to wait to see all the details.
