Hit the nail on the head , also by making a pokemon main game for the switch, they would be putting out a statement that says , the  handheld /home console ecosystem  we have talked about with the switch is real.

That's true.

But it doesn't adress the net loss of sales because of the very low Switch market. A Switch version would cost way much to develop, would also be longer to program, take more ressources and would sell way less.

Even the 3DS had to wait 2 years and half to get its first main pokemon game.
