It's certainly possible it will sell less than Wii U.

Such a fate can easily be avoided however, if they slash the price, give it a proper exclusive Pokemon, and do a deal with Capcom for Monster Hunter 5 exclusivity. That alone would practically guarantee sales over 50 million in my opinion.

The question is, does Nintendo have the guts and smarts to do what is necessary, or will they just ride it into the ground like they did with Wii U?

It could go either way at this point.

I think the question is weather it does 30m lifetime, or 80m.

If they do the smart thing ei. cut prices by 100$ first year, and do a exclusive pokemon, and get MH5 ect for it.

I could see it doing really well.

At the same time... if they do the Wii U thing... and 2-3years from now its still 299$.... its not getting much above 30m Id guess.

Nintendo are a wild card.

If it remains $300 USD, and never gets exclusive mainline Pokemon or Monster Hunter, I'll be surprised if it outsells the Gamecube.

On the other hand, I reckon it can reach the 50-60 million range if they slash the price and get those games.
