So the more time passes from the Switch presentation, the more I feel worried for Zelda and its opportunity to win this year's GOTY, The reason ? Mario.
This year the competition is already tough with RDR2, ME: Andromeda, Horizon and The Last Guardian, but the true game that gets me scared is Super Mario Odyssey. The fact is that I'm scared that Mario could provide such a good experience that it could make people forget about Zelda, not necessarily because of it beeing an overall better game, but simply due to it likely providing a great experience and Zelda releasing so far apart from the GOTY awards that its greatness could be forgotten, What's worse is that Mario will likely outsell Zelda, providing a huge sustain for Mario in the general pubblic even though most of the people rooting for Mario won't have played Zelda.
Of course I still haven't tried neither of the games but even so I feel that Zelda has a disadvantage and it could end up causing Mario beeing nominated over Zelda unjustly.
What's your thoughts ? do you expect either of the two games to be nominated ? Do you think Mario has an advantge ?
