I don't see how being too powerful would be a problem

We can still see a lower budget game like Harvest Moon or Etrian Odyssey on the Switch, but instead of a $70-80 price tag, we could see it $40-50, like how it was priced with the 3DS

Developers aren't required to use all the features and power that the Switch has to offer, but it's an option if needed. More power could mean less optimization for some games and porting so it could attract more Japanese developers

Western games will take a bit hit with the power though

Wow I must have really did a bad job with my original post. Apologies. I don't think you quite understand, though. I'm not saying they have to use all the power(I said in later replies a Monster Hunter 3 remaster would sell well on the PS4). The problem is more so that there's no reason to keep these 3rd party exclusives as exclusives anymore, unless Nintendo pays them off, because the power is at least somewhat comparable to the PS4 so the game can compete in the same market, whereas a 3ds game like Monster Hunter 4 couldn't go into the PS4 market.

And Harvest Moon or Etrian Odyssey just would have a hard time competing, even at the 40$ price range. Most people pay 40$ for like .. Far Cry 4 or Uncharted Remastered on consoles. 40$ for a game like that on what is basically a console wouldn't work very well in a retail space, they'd have to rely on almost all the fans of those series buying the new title, and  attach rates usually don't work like that(unless it's a first pary nintendo game like Mario).

But yea I do agree that Japanese third parties will love it for stuff like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy. Too bad Playstation might scoop up some more exclusivity. Western Games....true. Hope we can at least get some support.
