I can understand the fear.

The push for graphic fidelity has nearly killed my favorite genre. The RPG.

But seeing games like Octopath, and I'm guessing an upscalled Pokémon Stars I have no fear.
See the OVERPOWERED Switch as you put it, has a limiting factor. It's battery. Though Pokémon Stars may not be looking like PokenFighters in graphics, it also means it can have a 6 hour battery life for the go.

But if we go away from the 16 bit graphics look due to the Switch, I see no insane expenses in it looking more like Trine.

The fear more so is that now developers have no need  to not port games over to the PS4. They have a system with decent graphics(even Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U looks pretty good), a system that's easy to develop for and port to, and a decent install base of PS4's in Japan. What is keeping them back  from just porting to PS4? And will the damage of that be big enough to stop sysem sales?

Also I kind of predicted 16 bit games being huge on the Switch too. Octopath looks so good.
